Erectile dysfunction (ED) is when a man cannot get or keep an erection. The condition prevents the man from having sex or finishing sex. This condition used to be called impotence. ED can occur at any age, but it is more common in men older than 75 years of age.
ED is the term used to describe the condition of being unable to get or keep an erection long enough to engage in satisfying sexual activity. So, it encompasses a few circumstances: You can get an erection but can’t maintain it for a long enough period of time. You can get semi-erect but not fully firm. ED can often occur as a result of diabetes. A study of type-1 and type-2 diabetics with ED found that erectile dysfunction in 30% of the subjects was connected to DHEA deficiency.
