A diet rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and low in saturated fat, sugar, and red meat may help to support healthy and firm erections. What causes weak erections? The potential causes of erectile dysfunction include underlying health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, mental health problems, and issues affecting blood supply and blood flow. How can I get hard fast without pills? Several natural methods such as improving your diet with healthy foods and engaging in regular exercise may help improve blood flow to the penis. However, these methods are unlikely to provide fast-acting relief for erectile dysfunction. What foods work like Viagra? Viagra works by enhancing the effects of nitric oxide to relax the penile muscles, expand blood vessels that go into the penis, and improve penile blood flow. So far, no studies have found any foods that provide these same benefits for ED. K Health articles are all written and reviewed by MDs, PhDs, NPs, or PharmDs and are for informational purposes only. The Priapus Shot®, also known as the P-Shot®, uses platelet-rich plasma from a patient’s blood to create an injection that isolates growth factors. This formula contains biological matter and is injected into the patient’s penis, stimulating blood flow and promoting the growth of new tissue. The side effects of this treatment method are minimal since the P-Shot is created from the patient’s body. After completing the course of treatment, some men have reported stronger orgasms, increased sexual ability, and spontaneous erections.

Since endothelial dysfunction, CVD and ED are closely associated in epidemiological studies, the question for clinicians is whether to recommend the man presenting with ED undergo a cardiovascular (CV) evaluation. Clearly, based on numerous studies, ED can be considered at least a ‘marker’ for possible further vascular disease or CVD.15 In their report, Vlachopoulos and coworkers make the point that the man presenting with ED, the clinician, is offered an opportunity to attempt to improve the health of the man by addressing lifestyle modification, and consider further vascular evaluation owing to the clear relationship between endothelial dysfunction, ED and CVD.19
